Rhinoplasty in Iran: Choosing a Surgeon, the Process, Recovery and Cost Factors

Last reviewed:

Rhinoplasty (a nose job) is surgery that reshapes the nose and can also correct breathing problems. Rhinoplasty cost in Iran depends on the surgeon, technique, hospital and whether the septum needs correcting, so there is no single price. This guide explains the steps, recovery timeline and how to choose a surgeon, based on reputable medical sources. It is general information, not medical advice: confirm with your treating surgeon whether the operation is right for you.

What is rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty reshapes the bone and cartilage of the nose. When a deviated septum is corrected in the same operation, it is called septorhinoplasty. Surgeons use either an open approach, with a small incision under the nasal tip, or a closed approach from inside the nose. The choice depends on your anatomy and goals.

How to choose a rhinoplasty surgeon

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) cautions that it can be hard to assess the training and credentials of surgeons abroad. These questions help you decide with more confidence:

  • Ask for the surgeon's Iranian Medical Council licence number and specialty (plastic surgeon, or ENT surgeon with facial plastic surgery training).
  • Make sure surgery takes place in a licensed hospital or surgical centre; for international patients, one with an IPD licence.
  • Talk openly about breathing, your expectations and the limits of your own nose.
  • Get the aftercare plan, follow-up schedule and how to reach the team after you go home in writing.
  • Do not choose on price alone.

The process with LSevin

  1. Send photos of your nose from several angles and your medical history for a free consultation.
  2. A surgeon or clinic reviews your case and you receive a written quote.
  3. We coordinate the surgery date, a hotel near the hospital and, if needed, your treatment visa.
  4. In-person examination, pre-operative tests and signing the consent form.
  5. Surgery and discharge as your surgeon decides.
  6. Follow-up visit and splint removal, then home with a remote follow-up plan.

How long to stay in Iran

Most patients stay at least until the splint comes off and the surgeon has checked the result. With ASPS suggesting seven to ten days before flying, booking a hotel for about that long makes sense, but your surgeon sets the number of nights.

ASPS also advises avoiding sunbathing, swimming and extensive tours while you heal. If you want to visit Mashhad, Shiraz or Isfahan, plan it before surgery or after your surgeon clears you.

What affects nose job cost in Iran

Firoozabadi Hospital of Iran University of Medical Sciences stated in January 2025 that rhinoplasty in Iran costs between $1,500 and $3,000. That is one hospital's published range, and your final price will differ. LSevin does not publish fixed prices; you receive a written quote after the consultation.

  • Primary or revision surgery; revisions are usually more complex
  • Whether the septum or a breathing problem needs correcting
  • The surgeon's experience and specialty
  • The type of hospital or surgical centre and the anaesthesia used
  • Hotel nights and any in-hotel care
  • Number of companions, transfers and visa fees

Possible risks

ASPS lists the following possible risks of rhinoplasty. Your surgeon should explain them before you sign the consent form.

  • Anaesthesia risks
  • Change in skin sensation (numbness or pain)
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Infection
  • Nasal septal perforation (rare)
  • Poor wound healing or scarring
  • Possibility of revision surgery
  • Skin discolouration and swelling
  • Unsatisfactory nasal appearance

Frequently asked questions

How much is a nose job in Iran?

It depends on the surgeon, technique, hospital and whether the septum needs work. One Tehran university hospital published a range of $1,500 to $3,000 in January 2025. You receive an exact written quote after the consultation.

How many days do I need to stay after rhinoplasty?

Usually until the splint is removed, which The Aesthetic Society puts at about seven to ten days after surgery. Your surgeon decides the final number.

When can I fly after a nose job?

ASPS suggests waiting seven to ten days before flying after facial cosmetic procedures, including rhinoplasty. Ask your surgeon what applies to you.

When can I go back to work?

It depends on your job. The Aesthetic Society says most normal activities resume within about three weeks, and light work may be possible sooner.

Is revision rhinoplasty available?

Yes, but revisions are usually more complex and need a more detailed assessment. Send records and photos of your previous surgery with your consultation request.

Can I combine rhinoplasty with a Mashhad pilgrimage or a tour?

Yes, if the pilgrimage or tour comes before surgery or after your surgeon clears you. ASPS advises avoiding extensive tours during recovery.
