Medical Hotels in Iran: Recovery Stays Near Hospitals, with Care Add-ons

Last reviewed:

A medical hotel is a hotel where a patient and companion stay before and after treatment, either close to the hospital or with care services added to the booking. Staying near the hospital cuts travel time for follow-up visits, dressing changes and tests. On LSevin you can choose a hotel by its distance to your hospital and, where available, add in-hotel care.

What is a medical hotel?

A medical hotel does not replace the hospital. You move there after discharge, with your doctor's approval, to recover. It differs from an ordinary hotel in three ways: it is close to the hospital, care such as nurse visits can be added, and rooms suit a companion.

Tehran Times reported in August 2024 that many Iranian clinics and hospitals also offer airport transfers, accommodation arrangements and post-treatment care. LSevin puts these pieces into one booking.

Why stay near the hospital?

Many operations need several follow-up visits, and flying straight after surgery is not advised. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) suggests waiting five to seven days after body procedures such as liposuction, and seven to ten days after facial cosmetic procedures, including rhinoplasty, before flying.

ASPS also advises avoiding sunbathing, swimming and extensive tours while you heal. Staying near the hospital makes that period easier. Your treating physician decides exactly how long you should stay.

What in-hotel care can include

Depending on the city and hotel, you can add the following through LSevin. Your treating physician decides which services you need, and they do not replace hospital visits.

  • A nurse visit at the hotel to check dressings or vital signs as your doctor instructs
  • Transfers between the airport, hotel and hospital
  • Meals arranged around the diet your doctor recommends
  • An extra room or bed for a companion
  • Phone support to coordinate follow-up appointments

Stays for companions

Most patients travel with a companion. Some university hospitals, such as Firoozabadi Hospital of Iran University of Medical Sciences, note that hotels, rental apartments and hospital accommodation are available nearby for patients and companions. Tell LSevin how many companions are travelling and which room type you need. Companions can join city tours while the patient rests.

How many nights to book

It depends on the treatment and your doctor. For example, The Aesthetic Society says nasal splints and bandages are usually removed seven to ten days after rhinoplasty. Set your return date after your last follow-up visit and choose a booking you can extend.

Frequently asked questions

Can a nurse visit me at the hotel?

In many cases yes, if your treating physician considers it necessary and the service is available in that city and hotel. Request it when booking on LSevin.

How is a medical hotel different from a hospital?

A medical hotel is accommodation for recovery after discharge and does not provide hospital-level medical care. If warning signs appear, go to the hospital immediately.

Is a post-operative diet available?

Some hotels can prepare meals to your doctor's diet. Tell us what you need when you book.

What are the cancellation rules?

They depend on each hotel's policy, which is shown on the booking page before you pay. If your surgery date is not final, choose a cancellable rate.

Can patients from inside Iran book too?

Yes. Patients travelling from another Iranian city to Tehran or Mashhad for treatment can use the same options.

How long should I stay in Iran after surgery?

Your treating physician decides. ASPS suggests waiting seven to ten days before flying after facial cosmetic procedures.
